Indian cinema fans are well aware of the fact that Kamal Hassan is a non believer (technically an atheist) and some hardcore fan theory suggests that he is a non believer because he himself,is God. I know, its ridiculous.
Nevertheless, the theories asserted to him on his supernatural powers are somewhat believable. It seems that Kamal Hassan is gifted with the power of predicting the future via his movies. In fact there is a list of movies that is purported to have predicted the future, among others, Dashavatharam where Kamal Hassan predicted the epidemic disaster,Ebola. Click here to see the fan made list
In attempt to decide whether this theory is made up by Kamal's bizzaro fans or just a mere coincidence, I've hired some of the best anti gullible Internet users to determine the accuracy of Kamal's prophecy. Here are the results.
1. In the movie "Sivappu Rojakal" Kamal Played The Role Of A Psychopath Killer .One Year Later, A Guy Called Psycho Raman Was Caught For Brutally Murdering People Especially Women.
Here is the problem, Sivappu Rojakal was secretly based on Psycho Raman's life. But wait, how is it possible since Psycho Raman was caught a year later? It is possible because Psycho Raman a.k.a Raman Raghav started his horrendous crime in the 1960's and not after the release of Sivappu Rojakal.Raghav killed over 30 people between 1965 and 1968, including his own sister who he raped and stabbed several times. He was arrested after a girl called Krithika identified this strange man killing a victim on the outskirts of town. On arresting him, police found that he suffered from schizophrenia.
You can read the complete timeline of Raman Raghav here. Therefore, it is safe to say that Siggapu Rojakal did not predict the psychotic killing of Raman Raghav. Mythbusted.
2. In 1988, Kamal Played The Role Of an Unemployed Youth In The Movie "Sathya". In 89-90'S Our Country Faced Lot Of Problems Due To Unemployment.
First of all, the unemployment rate in India is always fluctuating. It was never constant and that is totally normal for a huge country with a massive amount of population. Click here to see the latest unemployment rate in India.
One of the reason for high unemployment rate is due to economic crisis. In short, when the Balance of Payments are imbalance. So, you see in 1985 India was already having problems with Balance of Payments. It was only by the end of 1990 the economy started to surprise buttsex the country which lead to an economic crisis.
Im not saying this factor inspired Sathya to predict the outcome of the 1991 economic crisis and made a full 3 hour movie about it in 1988. No, but the real connection here is that, the movie Sathya was infact, a remake of a hindi movie called Arjun played by Sunny Deol which was released in the year 1985.
You guessed it, it was released during the balance of payments are imbalanced in India. So anyone who was reading Times India or any newspaper in 1985 covering the BOP issues at that time, can definitely predict the consequences of an imbalance BOP. (low employment rate, duh!) So,was it a myth? It is not totally B.S but any educated mind could've predicted the outcome of an economic crisis. Therefore we'd say this Sathya's theory is
3. In 1992, his blockbuster movie "Devar Magan" was released. It’s a village based subject. The movie portrayed scenes of communal clashes. Exactly a year later in 1993, there were many communal clashes in southern districts
The statement itself is very wide in its application. Its like today i made a movie with a sex scene and exactly one year later, you are having sex. Oh, did i just predict the future? Cmon, lets face it, religious and communal violence is prevalent throughout history. It is always happening and it will happen. You cant run away from it. Violence in India on the other hand is needless to say. Unnecessary slaughter of one group by another group have been recorded since1761 in India and NOT after the movie Devar Magan. In 1992-1993, the Bombay riot occurred leaving more that 1000 Muslims and Hindus slain. which was caused by religious issues and not some village Dam issue as in Devar Magar.
This theory is totally busted. Devar Magar did not predict anything.
But hey, do not get me wrong. Devar Magan is still a great movie.India chose this film as its entry for the Best Foreign Language Film for the 65th Academy Awards. The film was screened at the Toronto Film Festival in 1994. But what many people didt know is that Devar Magan along with Nayagan was an adaptation from the 1972 Godfather in a more Indian cultured way. Godfather adaption (para7)
4. We all know in 1996 many people in our country was cheated by finance companies. Kamal Hassan had clearly depicted this in his movie "Mahanadhi" which was released in 1994, well a year in advance
Mahanadhi's central theme is on corruption and child trafficking. Long story short, this movie is about Kamal Hassan trying to get his family back in shape after a stint in jail. So, the depiction of being cheated by finance company is merely a small plot in the movie, nevertheless it may have inspired finance companies to cheat after watching the movie. We'l never know. However, what is interesting in this movie is that Kamal Hassan himself had told that the movie was influenced by novel adaptation of Les Miserable..Our verdict
5. In "Hey Ram"(2000), there are few scenes relating to Hindu Muslim clashes. We all know 2 years later, Godhra (Gujarat riots) incident happened
The initial Gujarat riot occurred in 1969.Between the year 2000-2002 itself there were more than 13 riots related to communal and Hindu-Muslims clashes in India. Therefore the Gujarat incident in 2002 can be easily concluded as a mere coincidence.
6. He used a word called 'tsunami' in his movie "Anbe Sivam"(2003).The word 'TSUNAMI' was not known to many people before. In 2004, 'tsunami' stuck the east coast of our country and many people lost their lives
7. In his movie "Vettaiyadu Vilayadu "(2006) there are two characters called Ilamaran & Amudhan who played the roles of psychopath killers. After 3 months of release of the movie, the NOIDA serial killing came to light (Moninder & Sathish)
The modus operandi of the movie and the real killers are almost similiar. Read here the full details on Noida Case.
8. Dasavatharam" in 2008 he mentioned about a deadly virus, which spread via air, that may destroy the world. Now in 2009 we have the Swine Flu that spreads through air. And to be specific, in the movie Kamal develops a bio weapon and finds out the deadly effect of the virus in a lab in America.
There are some variations that this Movie also predicted Ebola. However, dear friends, ebola is not a new epidemic. The first case of ebola was in fact in 1976 in Sudan. Therefore, saying that Mr.Kamal predicted the outbreak of a 'new' virus Ebola is totally B.S. Read here for the list of ebola attack
However, the swine flu occurring a year after the epidemic related movie would make this theory

Agree with our list?Comment Below :) Thanks for reading
